A Sparkly 1.5 Million Pageviews!

Wooo! Business is picking up! Thanks for dropping in to my humble blog site!

I don't mind sparkling water, sparkling champagne, or sparkly jewelry .. but I refuse to have my vampires sparkling! This is one of the last captions I made on the old computer. I knew that there would be a week or so of moving in between computer builds, so I had "stocked" up on some quickies to post while I was floating between old and new. This one never got posted though, so I figured that now would be a good enough time.

The main point of the post is to celebrate hitting 1.5 million views. The blog nailed 1 million views back at the end of February (18 months) and about 8 months later reached its current status. I am going to try to narrow the gap even further and hit 2 million within 6 months. We all need goals, and that is one I will be shooting for. Perhaps I will miss the target, but its worth the effort! Even better, the blog is almost at 1300 comments, so all told, we get about 4-5 comments per post!

As if you didn't know, Rifftrax are some of the guys from MST3k, and they pretty much do the same thing that MST3k did, but to newer movies. The snarky commentary is sold via mp3. They also do some movies live simulcast in movie theaters. The next one they do is on Thursday, Oct 25 at 8 PM .. and they are doing "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" which HAS to be one of the most inept movies of all time. Can't wait to see that one in the theater!

  3. Congrats on the milestone Dee!

I have to agree with your cap and that song. I hate that vampires has moved into the teen girl world. I want my vampires either overtly frightening and scary (Dracula, Salem's Lot...) or overtly sexually charged (Lestat). I don't want them to be teen heart throbs!

  4. Whilst I hate the idea of vampires-which happen to be all too real, as I met two-
sparkling, I loved the imagery and this song for how beautiful it was. Caitlyn, Dee,
there was a REAL Dracula once, Vlad Tepes (pronounced Tepesh), otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler, or, occasionally, Vlad Draculaea. Draculaea means 'Son of the Dragon', since his father, Vlad Dracul was a member of the Order of the Dragon,
and in Wallachian-ancient Romanian, Dracul means 'Dragon', NOT vampire. In fact,
Vlad Draculaea was NEVER charged with vampirism, although he was charged with
in league with the Devil himself, but never proven.

  5. Birdemec, I think I saw that in the netflix cue. Meant to watch it, but it just sounded really bad... Wish I could see it with their live commentary!

And as far as the caption goes.. I've been a vampire for more then half of my Halloween costumes.. (I'm a huge fan, but it's also a cheap costume that i can throw together. Plus, fangs and a cape.. very cool! ) So I can't tell you how much this twilight stuff just irks me.. And worse of all, two of my younger brother's actually enjoy those movies.. Thank god they know the difference between the two though.
