Wicked Pissah! 5k hits!

Cheetah Pants? ... Oh its a woman from "Bawstin" talking!

For maybe the second time EVER, this page had 5000 hits in one 24 hour period! Glad to see that everyone is starting to come back after the nice weather and end of summer celebrations! Also, it seems that other TG blogs are picking up some momentum, which is rubbing off here. Hope you are enjoying what you see!

I figured I would post another caption involving a dialect, this time one I know very well .. the Boston accent. For those who don't know what "Cheetah Pants" are, here is how I defined it in the original post back in May of 2009 ..
"Cheater Pants" means to "man up" and admit your infidelities. However, with a cute bawstin accent, it can mean something else entirely.
I think most people know what a Boston accent is now, especially with many movies set there with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon .. and of course Jimmy Fallon's NOMAH! sketches back on Saturday Night Live.

Tomorrow is ShySteffie's birthday. I am hoping that everyone here that knows her will send her some happy birthday thoughts OR even better, make her a birthday caption. She does so much behind the scenes for the Haven and deserves to get swamped with well-wishes.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: Do you have a well-known accent where you live now or where you grew up? Would it translate well into a plot for a TG caption, like where someone mishears the locals talking about something important?

  1. Great cap Dee! I adore a good bahstahn accent. Sadly being born, raised, and currently living in the midwest (mid Michigan) there aren't any accents around here. Sure, Detroit has a slight accent, and there is Chicago's.... but we all speak normal here. :)

  2. There are some accents there, probably just not as pronounced as in Boston or New York.

Chicago does have a distinct accents as does Milwaukee .. and of course the Minnesota accent.
