Can You Prove that Evil Is Hereditary? I Can Answer that Question

I guarantee that the first 20 words or so of this caption are 100 percent true! Some others as well!

From there, it gets a bit fuzzier, but isn't that one of the fun parts about this blog and its contents? What's true, what is somewhat or mostly true, and what has been completely invented for dramatic purposes? Do I ever lie, or is it mostly lighter fabrications to cover up real facts I would prefer not to get out into the public?

Among the lies of this caption .. the kit came in while I was sick with a lung infection .. and fucking thrush. Yeah, that stupid mouth yeast infection disease that mostly kids get. Mine came from a bronchial inhaler I was using blah blah blah. So I haven't swabbed my mouth yet or turned in the test, as I didn't want them to let me know I was some sort of bacteria from 50k years ago. Also, I don't think my relatives were in America until the mid to late 1800's, so I am not likely to have a Salem witch aunt. There have been rumors of a possible Micmac connection though I doubt it highly, and the kit I purchased isn't likely to include markers for individual tribes .. so unless there is a good amount of Native American in me, I doubt this will find it.

Truths are that I most likely come from mainland France (and a tiny sliver from England) on my mom's side, and French Canadian on the dad's side. The test will let me know how much Neanderthal DNA I have so that should be fun! Side note, Ozzy Osbourne has twice as much Neanderthal DNA as the average person does, or so says pop culture!

As to what is true here on the blog .. I tend to be fairly truthful in what I say, usually with a few things told to distort enough that you couldn't necessarily hunt me down on MyFace or Spacebook. I can bend the time frame of when something happened to earlier or later in my life. Turn friends into relatives or the other way. Merge different people into one person or the other way. I guess that my blog is mostly true in ways that a TV Movie of the Week from the 70's would be true about me.

What IS true though is how I feel about my readers, my captioning colleagues, the TG community, and the passion I have for them all to succeed and prosper. You can tell it's real, can't you? I don't think I could fake it if I wanted to. It's why I took a sabbatical this year, and why I won't feel bad if I ever have to do so again. I don't want to pretend, for myself or your sake, that I am ever just going through the motions. I always want to give, and hope to receive, 100 percent. That's the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

This is a blog exclusive so comment early and often! Also, if you have any experience with 23andme and their DNA testing, I'd love to hear about it as well. I just took the ancestry package and got it half off, or 49 bucks.

  1. I'm pretty sure all my ancestry is in Scotland and Ireland....although some of my ancestors might have gotten to know some of their Viking visitors way back when!!! I can trace the family tree back at least 7 generations and all are from Scotland except for one group that went to Ireland a little over 100 years ago....maybe that's why I have such a thing for little plaid skirts!!!

I like the idea of your rough and tumble ancestors coming through the years to help you see your femme side....cool and scary....I find the idea of genetic manipulation to be one of the scarier areas that science is toying with....

Anyway, I liked it....and the pic is perfect!!!

    1. I had a friend that just got back from Ireland. He goes every 3 or so years. Says there are no green grasses around here like it at all.

Glad you enjoyed. I know it was kind of hard to fuck up the caption with a photo like that one. It really helped expand the story line the way I wanted it to.

    2. I haven't been to Scotland since I was a kid.....but it was very green and lush.....probably due to all the rain!!!!
My Grandpa used to say they had 9 months of rain and 3 months of bad weather!!!!
I think we might be going in the Spring and I really hope so....I have an extended family there that I've never even met.....plus there's all those men running around in kilts!!!!!
      Be still my heart!!!!

  2. I loved this - great story, great development, and great picture. Kind of makes me want to get a DNA test, just to see if it comes with the same offer. :)

    1. I heartily agree. I am going to be very disappointed in the actual DNA test which I plan on sending out in a few days.

I try not to get ahead of myself, but I was pretty sure this was a sure winner caption wise.

  3. When i was a kid i asked my mother about the family tree, she said you might find something you don't like? I have no idea what she meant, My young mind thought i might be related to Jack the ripper or someone sinister.
Rollins band, kick arse! I've not heard that one in years.

    1. I always enjoyed Rollins work, whether in Black Flag or his solo stuff. His band had an interesting swing and groove that was very heavy. I think his voice ended up being the limitation but he's a cool cat!
