Post Fourth of July Caption Sale .. Passing the Savings on to YOU!

So, before I was rudely interrupted by some simply nasty multi-cellular organisms!

You know how long it takes to drain people of their blood to use when your own is contaminated? QUITE a while, even when you have access to needles and such, instead of just fangs! I don't know how Keith Richards does it! It must have taken WEEKS for Countess Bathory to find enough virgin girls to fill up her bathtub!

Anyway, nice to meet you. I'm Dee, and I'll be your slightly more infected TG Captioner. Long story short, I got out of work Thursday on a half-day expecting to have a nice relaxing long weekend with the girlfriend. Drop off her car for a quick overnight fix up and we are going grocery shopping. Phone call comes in, "Get the hell into the hospital, you have a bacterial infection in your knee, so we'll scope it out and you'll be as good as new tomorrow morning." which turns into some sort of "Brazil: the Movie" scenario where every treatment makes something else worse, and my blood is now infected as well, and IV's filled with bleach to wipe out the contagion (metaphorically) and I finally get to head home Monday night loaded up with 6 weeks of more antibiotics. That was certainly quite a long weekend +1 extra day!

Right now I feel as weak as shit, and I plan on going into work tomorrow, but I wanted to thank everyone that left a message, sent an email, said a prayer, burnt sacrifices to Kali, or ate a basket of calamari in the name of Cthulhu. I had great care with all the nurses, my family and friends were fantastic with support, and as usual, I am going to battle back to what I consider "normal", which means, something that doesn't resemble a hairy pin-cushion.

I have a few more captions I haven't posted yet plus the DIY results from June, so I think there will be a post either on Tuesday or Wednesday. I even whipped up a new caption for Dawn!

  1. Great "come back" cap, Dee. I'm happy you're out of the hospital.

I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Hey Dee, I'm so glad to hear you're on the mend. It's funny, although most of us have never met one another and we only share our kinks for TG fiction together. We still have a connection that roots deeper than what's on the surface. I care for you and many other friends on here like family. So when I found out you were sick, I felt terrible and only hoped for your speedy recovery. I am so happy you are okay and you returned to our community. If you need anything, email me.

    Sincerely, Katie

    1. Going to take a bit of time, but I'm game for it! I was very worried in the hospital, because 6 weeks of in-home intravenous antibiotics were definitely on the table as an option. The good news is it wasn't MRSA and it didn't get to my heart, as I also had to have an heart echo thingy.

  3. I'm glad to hear you are back home and on the mend. Take it easy and don't push yourself. Remember, your body (along with the antibiotics) is working overtime so you don't want to add to much stress to it.

    1. Yeah, I'm starting to hit the wall stamina wise right now at work, but I set it up to be a half-day with a doctor's consultation later in the afternoon. Need to figure out a good way to pace myself.

BTW, all the nurses were really nice and knew what they were doing. None of them were sexy though, just very qualified to handle someone like me LOL There was only one male nurse on the team and he wasn't there until the last night, and somehow I didn't get to see him, as I think he was doing all the paperwork on the overnight.

    1. If you are going to burn something, you have to make sure it smells good, otherwise you are left with an unpleasant odor for days!

  5. I wore my colander and burnt my noodles, the later being accidental, but maybe it helped.
Good to hear you're back on the mend.

    1. The flying spaghetti monster will NOT be pleased to hear that, but it must've worked. Just don't let any of the Pastafarians hear about what you did!
