Some people are just "old souls" while others were recycled!
Made this one as a quickie for Dawn (Commentator) as I saw the picture and thought about her sitting on a psychiatrists couch, which I've made captions of quite a few times before. The hat made be think of Dawn and the old style reporter's cap with "PRESS" in it, so I went with it. Didn't take very long at all to write up and it is what it is thematically. No real deep meaning behind it, other than I have been reading a book I think I mentioned in an earlier post about the assassination of JFK so I am pretty sure that was tied into this caption through that reference point. People of my generation would be more likely to remember where they were when the Challenger Space Shuttle blew up.
Onto the results for the DIY Challenge. Got FIVE captions, including one from a newcomer .. Maxine! Always good when we get someone new to chip in with a caption. Hope we've got her hooked for the next challenge that should be coming this week!
First up is Dawn's contribution. She did a good job of stretching it out to give her enough space to let her story breathe in big enough letters.
Brittany7 flipped hers around and also widened it. Am I making the caption settings too small for everyone, or what?LOL
Here is the one from Maxine, and I think she did a great job. It fits in nicely with everyone else's and is dee-vious enough to get my attention!
And last, because I just whipped this up for him, is Ian's contribution, and its down to only 240 words by his count! I actually used a size 16 font then stretched it out a bit to reach the bottom. Way to go Ian! Let's keep it up!
And I missed it in my trading folder initially, and I'm truly sorry about that Helena! She's been doing the challenge since literally the beginning and it was totally my fault that I missed it. Sorry!
Back in a day or two. Any ideas for the type of photo you'd like to see next for the DIY Challenge? Leave 'em below AND be sure to comment on these captions. Let's get them some recognition!
Great caps everybody! I'm almost embarrassed to admit that when I saw the source photo I didn't realize she was in a cast. I thought it was just an odd sweater. I guess it's a good thing that I didn't come up with a story as it would have made no sense whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteWell, unless it was a magical sweater that turned into an upper body cast!
DeleteYou weren't the only one. Another person thought it was a sweater at first too.
That was me. This was what I said when I posted my version
DeleteI have to admit at first glance I thought the pic was a girl in a big white sweater until I read the label on the jpeg. I had this whole 'wait until your polish dries' thing going in my mind and had to change course in midstream.
It does sort of look like an angora cast. Not sure if that would feel good or itchy on the inside!
DeleteWell, here's another gal who didn't see right away it was a cast. I had to download the picture and see the label on it as well.
DeleteI think she's wearing a sweater OVER the cast after looking at it more closely. The necklone is too rounded to be a cast.
ReplyDeleteAw, you say such nice things about my cap.
ReplyDeleteAll great caption cast a spell spell a cast tee hee wish i thought of that
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure it would work, I'm glad it did.
DeleteThe itching powder in the cast is pretty devious but fun.
Actually, all caps were great, and devious.
