The Yellow Shoes

Real torture would've been an endless loop of Christmas Shoes, amirite?

Whipped this up for Ridney on the Haven today while I had some time before heading out to eat for some Italian food with the girlfriend. I saw a model online with yellow heels on, and I thought that it was quite a striking image, and dwelled on it for sometime, wondering why someone would buy a pair of shoes like that, especially when they didn't really match the outfit. Then I realized I was quite focused on them, and that gave me the kernel I needed to whip up this caption.

The hardest part ironically was finding the perfect photo that would draw attention to them, but still had the model's face in the actual picture. I can't tell you how many pictures were just from the knees or ankles on down to the shoes. They looked great, but I really didn't want to give someone a caption with just the bottom 5th of a woman unless they were huge fans of feet. I have no idea if Reggie was a foot fetish enthusiast, so I went with my original thought. It took about 10 minutes to find this one, and I'm glad I did, since I think it does make the story much more palatable. I did a bit of Photoshop alteration to bring out the yellow a bit more with a few color adjustments. At one point, I had thought about doing a black and white wash effect to leave just the yellow shoes, but in my opinion, the rest of the photo is monochrome enough that I didn't think it needed to be done. I also thought that it'd be a bit too gimmicky if I made all the "YELLOW SHOES" stand out in yellow. If I had made this caption in 2009, I probably would have succumbed, and overall it would have suffered for it.

Have lots of little chores and things that need to be done this weekend so we can do family traveling when Easter hits in two weeks. Not sure if I'll be posting on Saturday or Sunday, though I plan to post on one of those days. I guess we'll see how I feel tomorrow evening. Hope everyone dropping by here has a wonderful weekend with lots of fun activities to keep you busy!

  1. And she always has a big smile for me when I visit her, which I do quite frequently. She loves how I look in the yellow shoes and I'll be wearing them when I pick her up in a few months when she gets out I even bought her a nice new pair of her own to wear for our first night alone together, we can hardly wait!!!

    1. What is the difference between the two? They both kind of look the same to me, except one has bigger text. Both like a Leeanne blog so I don't mind it at all!

    2. Different content posted on each, updated every day....so far at least...I started the second one when Google+ started to give me a hard time about "adult content" on my G+ profile page. I was afraid they were going to dump the whole thing down the memory hole.....
Thanks for the link it's much appreciated!

  2. To have your appearance matched to such lovely shoes. It would all be worth it:)
Geat cap, I think you were right not to go with a black and white wash for the rest if the picture. At least my attention was drawn immediately to the shoes.

  3. Nice cap Dee!

Sometimes doing more in a cap results in a cap that is just less. I think you made the right call on both fronts. Going black and white may well have emphasized the shoes, but it would have de-emphasized the subject, and coloring the 'Yellow Shoes' in the text would have pushed a bit too far. Good choices on both fronts!

    1. Glad then that I didn't go with "The Caitlyn" effect since most people seem to agree that it would've been too much. Looking again, I possibly should have italicized YELLOW SHOES though LOL
