Missing Piece of the Puzzle .. having fun with TG Captions!

You'd think a place like that would be open all night!

After a seriously fun caption that took awhile to build fully operational, I wanted to post something much sillier and jovial. Pretty much the caption formed this way: I went onto a popular amateur site and was looking at the usual models I tend to gravitate towards .. found the latest set ... the lack of real cleavage spoke to me saying, "crossdresser caption" ... and then "I need boobies!" At that point, a funny little line from Shatner in Airplane II came to mind, and that was that ... Instant caption!

You know, irony can be pretty ironic. Over Macho Grande? No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande. Yeah, I can pretty much quote the entire movie!

Main point in all this is .. anything can be an inspiration for a caption .. literally anything. For me, pop culture is a big draw. If someone is a fan of what you are using as a reference, you've already gotten them half way to liking it. Here is something I titled, "The rug ties the room together".

Since I'd only been capping for a few months when I made that, its a bit rough around the edges, but the sentiment is still there. Got a ton of comments, including one from Petra who said, "Dude, duder, duderino, whatever. Very fun cap Dee, I never thought you could do a caption based on Lebowski, but you managed it wonderfully."

So, you have an idea to make a caption based off a Gotye song, the movie Casablanca, or the weird woman working at a flea market snack bar .. write it up. Have fun with it! Everyone will know that surely you must be joking ... and don't call me Shirley!

Not sure if you'd heard this song but you MUST! Not sure if anyone has made a caption for it yet, but its just so damn LIFE AFFIRMING, don't you think?

Check the comments for the music as for some reason, I can't embed the youtube video.

  1. Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats you. Great caps Dee. You were definitely not over the line. But both were very thorough. Far out, Dee. Loved them both. Great Job!

  2. Both really fun captions! Even though I don't get the references being made ^_^ I've never seen the Big Lebowski, and I've only seen the first Airplane.

    The fog is getting thicker!
    And Leon is getting laa-a-a-a-rger.

    1. That is one of the things that is good about doing them. Not everyone has to know the source material. For those that do, its adds another layer.

For instance, believe it or now, I hadn't heard of Death Note until AFTER Simone had done a few captions based off them. I am not an anime fan, so even though the premise was really cool, I hadn't encountered it, but it didn't impact my enjoyment of Simone's captions.

  3. I've been laughing my socks off with both captions.

After that, Weird Al. Does that mean I should start driving a truck?

    1. Even weirder, I was watching the new Archer on TV and there was a trucker wearing a bra, panties, fishnets and heels! I was like, they stole that from Weird Al!

  4. I think your pop culture is like the DVD extra's of the capping world. You don't need them to enjoy the feature, but they can add a lot of fun to them. I probably get about 90% of the references, but even when I don't get them (like the Airplane reference above), I still enjoy the cap.

So keep on keeping on Dee... Bowl, Drive around, and do the occasional acid flashback!
