The followup to the Celebrity Skin Caption from last week!
The irony of me posting this is that technically THIS caption came first. As I was making it for Caitlyn, another lyric by Courtney Love came to mind, and that one ended up being the one I posted at the beginning of January. You can find it here!
Caitlyn just got her 300th friend on her captioning blog, and as such, figured I would post a caption that I made for her way back in the day ... in January of 2010. I thought I had posted it before, but I did a search for both Caitlyn and Calvin, and nothing came up, so its new to people that weren't on the Haven at the beginning of 2010.
What I posted originally with the caption was this explanation:
Saw this picture online and the song and story came into my head, knowing that you liked to be part of a "wrong place at wrong time" scenario. To me, this makes the story a bit creepier AND sexier, since it could technically be feasible in today's society. It's the first time I've made an iBod caption where the device didn't do anything magical, other than maybe set up the subliminal quicker into the mind.Yeah, that does sum it up pretty nicely, in cute little hair bows! Caitlyn was the only one to comment on it, and its probably because they weren't expecting this sort of caption from a title like that, so they just totally ignored it on the Haven. Doesn't matter though, as Caitlyn gave a wonderful comment:
Wow... you hit several buttons with that. Some buttons that I didn't even know I had!So anyway, I am so glad you hit 300 friends Caitlyn, and it couldn't happen to a nicer person .. well someday it will happen to me too, and I am MUCH nicer than .. Sorry, I couldn't complete that sentence without chuckling maniacally! I'm glad that some weird goth chick got you to become a member of Rachel's Haven, and at some point you started a blog to discuss her delightfully well-crafted captions. I'm not sure why you don't have 1k people following you, but its their loss!
I am going to try to post almost every day this week, but I have a bunch of EOY projects at work that need to be finished by the annual meeting, SO forgive me if I miss a day (or three!)
Honestly (and I'll admit it even though it probably means I'm not hip), I have never heard of an iBod, but I think I get it. And I love it, of course. What a great way to make the transformation. You are really good Dee. You and Caitlyn. Unique and special. So glad I found your blogs.

Well, the iBod was a story way back on Fictionmania about an MP3 player (a ripoff of an iPod) that would turn guys into girls. At the time, I didn't remember the story, but it was obvious that I stole the idea from it. I know others have made captions based off the story as well.
DeleteI think I've made about 10 overall.
This brings back a lot of memories. I remember being so anti magic at the time before realizing that the 'tech' I liked was just magic of a different sort. This and several other caps really started making me think deeper about what I wanted to see in a cap. About what I wanted to see ME go through in a cap.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing it Dee!
Yeah, you have evolved over the years, but I think we all have. I'm not sure I would've wanted a drag queen caption back in 2009 or 2010 either!
