Ahhhh School Daze. I somehow missed every single dance given in High School.
Yes, I was pretty much a juvenile delinquent in school. Well, I never 'officially' got into much trouble, other than in-school suspension .. but I wasn't one for formalities; hell, I still hate getting dressed up in button up shirts, neck ties, slacks, suits, etc .. and I am usually dressed like a skate rat even now. Shit, I still can't tie a tie if it would save my life! Back then, it was Ozzy, Metallica, Sex Pistols and other 'rock' t-shirts and ripped jeans.
And since I only dated one person from my town, and that was someone who just moved there, and then left at the end of the year .. I really didn't keep track of social events. I can remember one year, a bunch of kids were out on a particular day, and when I asked a teacher why, they said, "The semi-formal was last night, so they just stayed home to get some rest." I was like (a) we have semi-formals here? and (b) I come to school, even when I'm hungover, so those bastards should have to come into school the next day!
I think it's been well noted here that I skipped the prom to go drinking under a bridge with friends.
So, anyway .. this seems like a good time to say that the caption is probably the alternative universe were Dee exists in high school at the same era and place when Damien went to school .. punishing some jerks that pissed me off somehow and I went all Dee-Mentia on them. And if you'd like, you can imagine you went there too!
Reading it again now (I wrote this a few weeks ago) I think everything is pretty clear, though now I'm wondering if I would have allowed this blatant cheating to go unpunished. Maybe I'd have made the punishment to not only dance with a boy, but to make out with them to up the ante. I mean, I can't let anyone get the upper hand on me, right?
Oh, especially red is cheating - they are holding hands with the left, right hand on the partner - like a man. They are likely leading. Plus the chunky watch.... Sounds like Steve likes it.. or he likes Peter...
ReplyDeleteI would let you lead, Dee. But it would be your call, of course.
I tend to lead in real life, so why not in fantasy too? ;)
DeleteYes Mistress Dee
DeleteDee, I was an athlete (track and cross country) and generally straight A student and I don’t think I missed a high school dance. I wasn’t much for dating so often attended single but that was common in my school. I always enjoyed seeing what all the girls were wearing and wishing I could wear fun things like they did.
ReplyDeleteI never attended any, but I think most people had dates when they attended. Most of my friends weren't going to the dances anyway, or were already out of high school, and as I mentioned above, I only dated one person from my town during High School, my GFs went to other schools .. and they weren't going to dances either.
DeleteI was a metalhead / punk rocker, but wasn't a stoner. I was a musician, but not in any school band stuff. I played 2 sports, but wasn't a jock. I was in AP classes, but wasn't a nerd. I lived in an affluent community, but was one of the poorer people there. I was literally all the kids in The Breakfast Club rolled into one!
That’s an interesting way to look at it. I think I’m most likely boring and probably only the nerd, even though I was an track/cross country star in my school I was in no way part of the jock group…but by that argument you probably weren’t any of them Dee. Going to a small private catholic school also put me among the least affluent of my classmates, but being that most of the college prep classes at my public school were dropped from the curriculum didn’t leave me much other options. I was one of 2 in my class of 72 that wasn’t catholic to add to my outsider status.
