Take Me to Church!

I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies.

Why not get slightly biblical with this one? I mean, someone has said that magic and science don't really mix well with religion .. so I wanted to play around with that a bit, and go with virtuous or carnal? We can be both and not be a bad person at all. That whole, "Virgin Mary to the world, Mary Magdalene in bed" thing seemed to be degrading and condescending to all women.  "I voice my opinion, but then I go along with whatever he says," is such stupid bullshit, and I feel bad for the women that believe that. 'Stand by your man' is one thing, but enabling him is certainly another.

I guess you can tell that I'm agnostic, or perhaps Gaia enthusiast. Don't tend to believe in a higher power other than Earth / Mother Nature. Your results may vary, and honestly, I hope that your belief system gives you great comfort, as long as you aren't infringing on other's rights. Some of the nicest people I've ever met have been Christian, and many of the cruelest, hypocritical and judgmental people I've ever come across were also Christian. Be a good person .. I really do like Jesus .. the hippie style Jesus .. and not those who have taken his wisdom and created a twisted dogma around it. If you ever get the chance, do read the 'The Lost Gospel of Q' which is thought to be the actual words and teachings told by Jesus, which came from a source that was used by 3 of the 4 Gospel writers. Definitely interesting.

And how did I come up with the idea for the caption? Well, it's an airy and spacious room, and the way she was dressed reminded me of the way my mom would get dressed for mass when I was young. It was interesting to see how my mother dressed up to go out to a nightclub on Saturday night and what she would be wearing that Sunday morning. Such an interesting contrast to say the least. From there, it was just trying to work out a dialog that felt true for the most part. Hope it feels that way for everyone else reading it here. Feel free to disagree in the comments, or elaborate more on what I've said.
