Sometimes replacing a boss is hard .. there's some really big shoes to fill!
I am not really sure where this caption came from, other than to say that I find clowns scary, and sexy .. which is often a horrible conundrum to myself. But in a way, it's possible that there's a connection between what a clown is .. and what we in the TG community see in the transformations from male to female, OR female to male as well.
It's the exaggerations that often inherent to what we like to see. The whole ULTRA nature of how we view things. It's from male to fully dressed in heels, dress, make up, hair ..the whole 9 yeards. Not just attracted to men, but CRAVING it, and doing EVERYTHING to please them. For sissies, it's lace, silk, limp wrists and extreme servitude and submission. For FtM, the former girls are bald or have shaved heads, huge muscles, a big cock, and dominate every single person out there, male or female.
And I guess you could say the same about clowns too. It's an exaggeration of life, big feet, big costumes with loud makeup and huge colorful wigs. They act in ways that are over-the-top for what everyday society expects, and is not quite socially acceptable in "normal" life.
So, why not bring that into the TG realm? Well, losing control of your masculine self is one thing, but what if you were compelled to also act out on another level entirely, bringing attention to EVERY thing you did ..and weren't able to stop? Perhaps even revel in it all?
Well, here we are. And I thought bringing language into it helps too. We use terms like clown and circus in everyday life, even when we mean it more figuratively. I thought it'd be fun to brig some metaphorical sayings and apply them literally .. Maybe we've got a magical entity working in Human Resources? Perhaps that is what we have here!
And I didn't even get into the whole corporate structure, where if you are high enough in the org chart, you tend to be able to blame subordinates easily .. and many there seem to fail upward. Screw up royally? Collect your buyout and stock options, and get an even better job at another business entity. Didn't want to truly highlight the subtext too much here, but it is definitely there for one that would like to hunt it down and ponder the real world that my captions seem to float around in.
Please do leave comments below, as I've used clown girls in the past as caption fodder .. does this make you uncomfortable at all while you are laughing at, or enjoying the storyline melded with the plot? What does in invoke in you, and how do clowns make you feel? Does what I wrote about make sense? Feel free to elaborate however you'd like. Seems like an interesting topic for discussion!
Well, I do rather like the whole clown thing, in that such a costume invites people to laugh at you. It's saying "it's okay - if not encouraged - for you to laugh at and belittle me." Perhaps why I've dressed twice as a girl clown for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI do find something a bit odd about them anyway - unnatural. Not scary, but unnerving....
I have talked to you a few times about the clown costumes. I know you had some fun, but probably not as much as you wanted.
DeleteAnd it can be very unnatural, because you really don't know what is beneath the makeup and the baggy clothing. Plus, everything is exaggerated and who knows what exactly the person underneath is thinking.
