.. burning calories with every foot long!
Was in a somewhat silly mood, and since I had a few minutes to caption, I went looking through the d'archives to see if there was something to let loose upon. This photo grabbed me, and I went to town. I thought that having him insult the goth while waiting for the Subway was a nice subtle little touch, but honestly I can never really tell how obtuse I really am.
I used Subway's colors for the background, and even snagged a font, but it looked WAY weird, even after I thought that perhaps I'd just use it on the zinger at the end. Oh well, perhaps I'll have use for it another time. You never know .. though I probably do know I will never use it!
Yeah, it is mostly a big excuse to use twelve inch in a caption, and "foot long" in a blog header, but give me a break! It is almost Thanksgiving here in the US and my brain already seems to be on vacation, though I still have work on Wednesday. Well, I also wanted to throw in Zumba classes too, which usually take place on yoga mats, which one of those memes say that the bread from Subway is made with an ingredient that is also found in yoga mats.
Please check out the previous caption to see if my caption back story would match up with yours .. the blog even has a button to keep you from seeing the spoiler until you click on it. Sweet!
Also, I hit 6 million page views about 8 days ago, which I mentioned before .. and there is a few days left to get in your DIY Challenge submissions. You can find out more about that in the link "Latest DIY" underneath my banner.
Lastly, I received a message from Nadine from the Haven recently .. I often will PM people if they haven't been around for awhile, because I worry about them and wish to make sure they are OK. Well, I don't want to give away exactly what is going on, but please add her to your prayers and light candles, etc .. She isn't dying or anything like that, but she'll be undergoing surgery for pain relief soon so keep her in your thoughts. Anyone who's captioned for any length of time on the Haven knows Nadine as she was a huge volume commentator and a good captioner too! In way of contrast, I am an admin and I've posted 9k on the Haven. Dawn (Commentator) is a friggin' captioning machine and she has 9,400 posts. Nadine hasn't been on the Haven much in the last 7 months, and she has still posted 19,983 times and she ISN'T a Role Play member! Here's hoping she'll be posting #20k very soon, and in much better health!
Why not? Many people have said that Subway's foot longs are only 10-11 inches long anyway!
Excellent cap, Dee. Nicely written as usual.
ReplyDeleteA friggin' captioning machine - that explains why the girls in my caos are usually smiling. They get capped in more ways than one!
ReplyDeleteThe good kind of "capped" though, not the rapper disputes where someone puts a cap in your leg!
DeleteWell I have been known to do a more than a few drive-by caps.
DeleteJamie should should probably pay the extra buck or two for double meat. It looks like something she would enjoy
ReplyDeleteI think she gets to hold the pickle too!
DeleteI am pretty sure I held off using this photo a few months ago because of the whole "Jared" thing. Now that he's been sentenced, I think Subway is fair game again.
Love this caption and how the goth chick has turned his life upside down. Are the bread and yoga mats really made out of the same stuff or is this a better to eat the cereal box myths.
ReplyDeleteAs per an article from USA Today from last April. "The ingredient azodicarbonamide can be found in a wide variety of products, including those served at McDonald's and Starbucks and breads sold in supermarkets. It's approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use as a bleaching agent and dough conditioner. But the petition by Vani Hari of FoodBabe.com gained attention after Hari pointed out the chemical is also used to increase elasticity in products including yoga mats, shoe rubber, and synthetic leather."
DeleteIt probably isn't THAT harmful to you, but also not needed in bread if you really think about it. I remember seeing a graphic a few weeks ago on Facebook, where it had a glass of water and it was all, "this glass of water contains a very inflammable gas that brought down the Hindenberg and fuels bombs!" Of course, its hydrogen as in H2O.
