Everyone needs to relax a bit and not stress out, don't you think?
Made this one for Karensue, and it might just be the last one I will create as a trade for someone in 2014. Its been a pretty solid year in captioning for me, and I'm looking forward to cranking out some more favorites for people in 2015 as well .. with all of you along for the ride with me!
This caption was inspired by my half-day of work today. I was doing what needed to be done, and around 11:30 AM, I realized that I didn't need to do anything more and whatever was left could be taken care of on Friday, so I vamoosed and closed down the office. The GF has to work until 9 PM tonight, unless her slave drivers let her leave early, but that didn't give us much of a chance to set up plans for going out, so we will probably head to a friend's house to watch the apple descend at midnight, and then head home a bit afterwards before all the drunken assholes get on the road.
I'd like to end this post, and the last post of 2014, with something that Helena wrote to me.
Over here we have a seasons greeting, "Zalig uiteinde" meaning as much as a blissful ending of the year, combined with a happy new year. I can't recall ever hearing or reading of a similar greeting in English, so to a good Dutch custom:
A blissful ending of the year, and a happy new year.So to everyone out there reading this, please be safe tonight, and
Zalig uiteinde!
Very clever idea for a curse! Love the conflict between the 2 personae! I had to think about each sentence carefully. Well worth the read!

Yeah, I am guessing that with almost 2 weeks off, Reggie's place is going to look a lot different, and many of his clothes will be too. Perhaps Karen will come back as a secretary for the boss, with maybe a chance to tap into Reggie's mind if need be?
Deletea great caption not the endfing i was expecting
ReplyDeleteIt's tough to work up a twist that people don't see, so thank you!
DeleteThis is an awesome caption Dee! Great way to start out the year!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I know its probably not a big deterrent here, but changing into a party girl would make a lot of boys really work hard at school and succeed in business. Hell, that might be a great retirement option! Work really hard for 20 years, banking all the earnings, then whammo .. permanent vacation as a young female socialite? Get the best of both worlds!
DeleteWonderful cap. With a curse like that I'd become a total slacker. As I am a blue collar worker, working hard the last 20 years didn't pay of enough to get a permanent vacation as a young socialite. So I'd be better of partying right away.
DeleteWell, with the Friday off I'm in the middle of a long weekend. Time to slack ;)
I'm smiling ear to ear, to see you like a little Dutch cutom so much you post it here. This is lovely start to the Happy part of the New Year.
