Soon you will come to know .. When the bullet hits the bone!
Made this one for Chelsea Baker, as I found out I owed her a few captions. I am usually VERY GOOD about returning captions in a timely manner, and I'm not quite sure how I got a few captions behind. The good part about it though is that I had someone to caption. I've been lax lately in making captions for people out of the blue, since I'm not sure who still owes me, and I'd prefer not to sink people into caption debt if I can help it.
I saw this picture while looking at Halloween costumes on Google Images, and when I saw this, I immediately thought of the song. I even did a quick little mock up with the lyrics cut and pasted into it, figuring I would work on it for someone the next day. Then when I had a chance to view Chelsea's preferences, there was something that really stood out to me .. she had a "cop to criminal" scenario. I figured, why not switch it up a bit .. and with a double cross and hit man from the lyrics, it made it a much sweeter idea than the vague one I had the night before.
It took a little bit of time to flesh out, but the main thing I changed .. right before posting actually ... was where the lyrics were placed, as you can see in the version below. My thought was to keep the story as tight as possible and leave the lyrics to the end. At the last read through, I thought it would work better if I put the lyrics into the caption right as they were "ringing in his ears.' Then I could explain the aftermath of what happened as a coda, so to speak. To give myself more space, I took out a duplicate line of the chorus and a few lines of a verse that weren't as pertinent to the plot line.
I think the final version works so much better, and I'm glad I took the time to think about things instead of rushing off to post it in Chelsea's folder. I also used a different font, as I'm not a fan of my signature font on a white background, since its hard to get a shadow effect I like that doesn't obscure the text its supposed to highlight. I ended up liking it so much, I kept it for the next caption I made Chelsea, which should be posted within a few days.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: If you were your feminine ideal, what would you be for Halloween this year? Would you get sexy or scary .. or a combination of both? I might actually go with THIS ONE!
Let them eat cake .. muthafuckas!
Digging the flashback music, and using the lyrics in the cap - clever! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy scary ideal - the female shapeshifter who retains a human frame, complete with busty shape. The really good SFX and CGI nowadays make the werewolves too lupine in shape; the classic wolfman or wolfwoman should be upright and still fit into their clothes, otherwise shreded. And my hair would be perfect LOL (perhaps we hear that song tomorrow?)
As long as we d0n't have to listen to the crappy Kid Rock semi-remake, I think I can meet you down at Trader Vic's for a few Pina Coladas and maybe some Beef Chow Mein!
DeleteHmm, good question... What would I be... I always try to be clever, so maybe I would go as "The 90s."
ReplyDeleteBut to be honest, I'd probably be a sexy, female Thor. I know it'd be sexy, but I'll have to keep my AssGard up. *giggles*
I don't know much about Marvel comics, but I would assume that if you dressed up like that, with all the male attention, you'd probably feel a bit "Thor" from all the guys pinching your butt!
DeleteI never knew the lyrics mentioned being cloned, and I always thought that it was "when the head man comes". I need better headphones... lol.
ReplyDeleteNice caption it's always fun to see a cap use song lyrics in the story. ^_^
If I was my ideal version of my female self, what would I dress up as? Geez.. Well, as of right now, I would dress up as a 1950's pin up girl! As far as what that would exactly look like? either a cute military outfit, office look, or sexy housewife? umm.. Can I be all 3? heck... there's also the school girl and sailor.. hmm. So many choices!
For you Jennifer, I would create an entire month of Halloween for you to figure out what you'd want to be for each day of the month!
DeleteI was a bit shady on the lyrics too, but the band is Dutch so that could be part of why the lyrics were a bit hard to figure out. Apparently they started out in 1961 according to Wikipedia!
Golden Earring are a Dutch rock band, founded in 1961 in The Hague as the Golden Earrings (the 's' was dropped in 1969). They achieved worldwide fame with their international hit songs "Radar Love" in 1973, "Twilight Zone" in 1982, and "When the Lady Smiles" in 1984. During their 51 year old career they topped the Dutch rock charts on over 40 occasions; over the years they produced 41 studio albums.Current members of Golden Earring are Barry Hay (vocals, guitar, flute and saxophone, member since 1968), George Kooymans (vocals and guitar, founder of band), Rinus Gerritsen (bass and keyboard, founding member), and Cesar Zuiderwijk (drums and percussion, member since 1970).
and I would so do that too! Heck, I some how even sneaked in another horror movie the next day after Halloween. lol.
DeleteI was surprised to hear how many albums they had! I've only heard a couple of their songs, but looks like I barely scratched the surface.
I can honestly say I would probably go with something very similar Dee. Or a maid, a victoian one though that looked something like this. http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/291341/asahina_mikuru-breasts-long_hair-m-maid-piromizu-r
