Henry Higgins was NEVER this kinky!

Here is what I said in the original posting of this caption I made for Jennifer:

Well, well, well ... Could *I* make a caption that is silly AND dead fucking evil? I might be closing in on that all-elusive caption so far, but this pulls me closer to that goal I think.

It's weird, that when I saw this picture, it's immediately what I came up with. Says something about me huh?

Anyway, enjoy the hell out of this caption, and stay the the way you are sweetie!

I am guessing that perhaps Jennifer had posted this picture as some sort of caption contest, since it was a "2 for 1 deal" I was responding with this caption. I believe that I vigorously did my best to fulfill my pledge to make a caption that was "silly and dead fucking evil," don't you think?

The story pretty much came into my head, just like I had said in the original posting. I saw ithe picture and said, "how the hell could you understand anything that girl is saying? .. EUREKA! HERE WE GO!" From there, it was pretty easy to come up with the extended "stinger" at the end.

The other thing that helped with the visual is that even though Jeremy looks feminine, he doesn't look TOO feminine, and seems to be trapped in that mid-point exactly where the story takes place. That just brings an immediacy to the caption that you don't always get. As far as reality, this caption is about as REAL as it could get. There is no magic or science fiction involved .. most likely just straight up domination and possibly some conditioning or hypnosis, but the whole setup SEEMS plausible as Mythbusters would say.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How often do you try to create captions that work on multiple layers? In this, I was striving for more than just silly wordplay. I wanted it to be a turn-on as well, both in plot line and in the visuals. Do you like it when a TG caption tries to succeed in different angles, or do you find the creator trying to be too clever by half?

  1. I don't really try to create captions that work on different levels. If I am going for evil and humiliation. I try to hit that nail as hard and as often as the story will allow. If I am going for sweet I try to add as much sugar and honey as the story will allow. But then again, I'm fairly one dimensional when it comes to that. Even in my sweeter stories, I leave enough room that you can imagine the humiliation and evil... you just have to want it.

I'm not really good at humorous or silly captions, so I don't tend to gravitate toward that area. I can see where you were trying to go for humorous and a Dom/Sub turn on, but I think are both reduced somewhat because of the combination. To me its 2+2 =3. If I just read the text and ignore the dark layout and the pained photo, I get a good laugh. If I pay attention to the dark layout and the photo and not read the story I get that tight feeling in my gut that I often look for out of a cap... but when I bring it all together I don't laugh as loudly, and that feeling in my gut isn't nearly as intense.

As to your last discussion question; I DO like it when a TG caption tries to succeed in different ways. Just because I can't do it, and just because I can't think of one that I feel did succeed that way, doesn't mean that it isn't possible. So long as an artist doesn't lose them self in a Ahab style quest to make that cap, I like seeing people stretch beyond the easy and past the difficult and go for the almost impossible.

While I don't like this particular cap (and it pains me to say that publicly!), I respect you more for trying it.

  2. I think I did find that picture, it was mostly the O-ring that drew me to it in the first place. Of course, the clamps didn't hurt the picture for me. ^_^ (well, I'm sure they hurt...)

I like the story, it has a sarcastic evil tone through out it, Mocking me... *giggle* I also enjoyed how it it seemed plausible, usually my favorite method as far as TG captions go.

On to the Question! I've tried to work a cap on many level's, whether I've succeeded or not I can't say. I know I enjoyed them, and others seemed to enjoy it. So I guess it worked out a little.

My last caption for courtney was my attempt to blend humor and eroticism into the story. My jennifer story is another example, trying to blend different elements into the story telling.

  3. I believe I'm almost always looking for multiple angles to come from, the most obvious is the way I name captions. I tend to sometimes play with visuals as well as the words to achieve this, but I still enjoy being able to do it with words even more.

  4. I think it is probably easier to make captions on different levels when there is more than one picture available, and if it is expanded more to a series.

For a great example of that, Jennifer's current opus where one cap can be playful, and the next one can seem foreboding and cramped.

This discussion sort of reminds me of Scott Adams (of Dilbert) fame talking about the 2 of 6 rule for humor (In order for something to be funny, you need at least two of the following elements: Cute (as in kids and animals), Naughty, Bizarre, Clever, Recognizable (You've been there)and Cruel.) He is on a quest to see if he can get in as many of the elements into a 3 panel comic strip.

I think that is sort of what I would love to do at some time, be able to juggle as many different elements as possible and make them all fit seamlessly into a one panel caption. Perhaps someday I will obtain that goal I've set!

  5. I like the caption. (As usual). Some of my captions are jest artwork, but among the short story captions I try and make it work on levels. If the words don't feel right than I jest go for erotic humiliation.

  6. @ Dee

Woo! I'm a great example! *giggle* I read Dilbert all the time, so That's a pretty neat piece of trivia. Hmm, Have you tried to apply those guidelines to a caption?

    @ Geofrey

    Erotic humiliation, Good Man! ^_^
