Quite a Few Hockey Captions From the Past .. Dee Shoots, She Scores!

I don't think any of these FIVE captions have been posted to the blog. Maybe TWO at most!

This was made for a Buffalo Sabres fan only a few months after I started making captions in 2008. I think it might be the first time I used that "Canadian Girlfriend" type meme .. you know the one where the guy says he has a girlfriend, but he doesn't. "You wouldn't know her. I met her at summer camp last year and she lives in Canada!"

This one was made about 7 months after the Sabres one, and I did it for Dalene. You can see the improvement just in that amount of time, can't you? I certainly can!

This one is from January of 2009, and yes, it has a zamboni in it! Still more evolution to my captioning skills, and look, it has TWO pictures in it!

Hmmm, I should have posted this one back when the Bruins / Maples Leafs playoffs were happening last week! Oh well, you can enjoy it now!

Another hockey bet caption, once again for Robyn. Poor thing, being a Sabres fan all these years!

And with that, I've looked at all the captions I'd made through to June 2009 and pulled out just about every caption I've made involving hockey during that time period. I don't think I made a bunch more since then that haven't made this blog yet, but I'll go through the d'archives soon to pull out any more that might be hiding in plain sight! Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

  1. Amazing haha! I love them all. What do you use to make your captions? I might try to get in on the action. Looks like a lot of fun.

    1. I use a "portable" version of Photoshop that you might be able to find floating around the Internet if you search hard enough .. perhaps there's a torrent of them up there in the clouds or something!

There are some other programs like Paint.net or GIMP that are free. I'll have to take a look to see what other programs people are using, but there are even a few that make captions using individual slides on Powerpoint, so there is many ways to make captions.

Glad you enjoyed those OG captions. Hard to believe I have some that are going to be hitting puberty next year!

  2. All great caps, your typical humor was already evident in your earlier caps, but it's nice to see how your Dee signature caps have evolved, especially when you look at your latest caps.

    1. That was something I noticed too, and it was fun to see how much things had changed in a little less than a year. Seemed like I really knew what I wanted to do right away, just took some time to dial it in exactly.

I could turn the one I did for Dalene into a current one within a minute I think, just by adjusting shadows and font outlines, then adding gradients to the overall background.

And yeah, my humor has always been like this. That was a given from the first time I put words and a photo together and started making guys into girls.

  3. Love these hockey caps! I too have been a Sabres fan since they debuted in 1970! Also a major Bills fan and I have been gone from Buffalo since 1976!!!! Love to see more featuring these two sports and maybe you would see fit to have me star in one! Zoe

    1. That's a dedicated fan!

There are plenty of football captions floating around here as well, which you can probably search for through the "SEARCH THIS BLOG" feature, using football or NFL or cheerleader as words that might narrow it down. Not each one will necessarily HAVE a caption involving it, but certainly wouldn't hurt to look at them anyway!

I'll see what I can do .. not sure if I have a male name for you and any preferecnes, but leave some here and I'll keep them in mind!

  4. Did the Devil make Robbie bet?

some of your fans may not notice... but isn't that (Miroslav) Satan's jersey Robyn is wearing? She wears it better.....
