Just Needed to Sort Things Out!

You know, like the lingerie drawers, shoe racks, and how much closet space does Lacy get?!?

I saw this picture and just KNEW I had something great to work with, and that Lacy would be a great recipient for the caption, especially since many of my pantyhose loving trade partners have sort of drifted away! So those who are totally up for some silky, slinky fun, let me know down in the comments that you are still out there so perhaps I'll make you something as well!

But anyway, Lacy tends to like realistic captions, and they have to have a heart to them, even when "forced" to do something. At least that is how I read her preferences. That doesn't mean that they can't be naughty or sexy though! I love writing flirty dialog for her, stuff that pushes her boundaries .. and if I leave it somewhat vague, it can be read however the reader wants it to be. And the stories are still fantasies, even though it is based on reality. I can't tell you how many trans women have told me that after a few months on hormones, they've ended up having a "gush crush" on some famous guy, even though they never would have thought that they'd be into men at all.

Hmmm, what's my point? Perhaps it is that I always try to ground my stories, no matter how fantastical, in some sort of plausible and reasonable universe, perhaps just slightly different than our own. Then I can adjust that sliding scale towards ludicrousness or 99 percent the world we live in now; that way each and every reader can have a connection to something in the content. Someone said that the best villain (or hero) origin stories come from a point of view of "this could happen to anybody" if the circumstances were the same. That "one bad day," and how it affected the person, is entirely relatable, and compelling when the reader can see themselves in it.

In this case, regardless of whether you love hosiery and lingerie or not, who doesn't want to be accepted for who they are by a loved one, and of course, have legs that look THAT good?!?

Thanks for all the comments in the last post in regards to Steffimarie / Britney Shagwell. If you haven't yet, please do so now. I think I am going to pull them all together into one email to send to her on Sunday or the start of next week. I am so glad that people remembered her. Often when you are in this TG community, you don't realize the impact you can have on others, with many of the consumers of stories, captions, and other related ephemera being a silent majority of page hits.

OMG! My Chemical Romance is going on tour! HOLY SHIT! I am SO teenage emo/goth girl giddy!

  1. I like your metaphor of the sliding scale. Much of TG is grounded in cultural realities, like gender roles or sexism or power, things over which individuals may have only limited control. And when we play role-playing games (I love the genre, both tabletop roleplay and video games), we adjust those sliders and suspend our disbelief, watching how small adjustments affect how one's character develops. The idea that "this could happen to anyone" is more compelling than the idea that "everyone is special." It makes for richer stories when you think, you know what, I've (almost) been there and might have reacted the same way.

p.s. I love the pantyhose & those legs! (confession: mine are naturally hairless and slender because I'm Asian, but I know how hard some ladies have to work for legs that handsome ;)

    1. I think it can be hard to overcome many of the stereotypes and norms that are accepted, and sort of codified when it comes to TG content. I do my best to subvert them, but since most of my captions are trades, I do have to play along with people's preferences as best I can, especially when you have an economy of words to get the point across.

And glad you enjoy pantyhose. I will keep that in mind for future trades. And yes, being Asian I think probably does help .. I have seen those "game shows" (from Korea I think?) where average guys go through a makeover and are like "HOLY SHIT! They're HOT!" No idea what is being said, but you can make up your own dialog in your mind!

I'm pretty sure a fair number of my readers would have a ton of people noticing straight up if they had hairless legs. You've got a built in excuse!

    2. Dee, since you mentioned those Korean game shows, and if you like hose and legs, not to mention waists and hips accentuated by gorgeous dresses, and Asian gender-bending performance (of which you are right, I've got a built-in natural excuse!), I think that you might be thrilled to see these guys from Korean boy bands do a Korean girl's group dance performance to the K-pop song "Something." Basically, the first 1:30 minutes of the video is the actual girl group "Girl's Day" performing their song, but then when "Boy's Day" takes the stage, the crowd erupts! Pay special attention to the girl with long wavy bright orange hair and a large black flower hairpin, for that is the talented Ren, who totally steals the stage with his feminine angles, slinky legs, and the hair flinging, which had both girls and boys going wild!

Check it out here on Youtube: https://youtu.be/GgIKCcx5F3M

      What are your reactions? ^^

    3. Music was a bit better than I expected. I am definitely not a K-pop or J-pop fan by any stretch. Well, I don't mind Babymetal!

Other that that one guy who was pretty buff, they all made fairly cute girls, it was interesting to see one or two playing with their "hair." But yeah, you are definitely on the ball with the Ren person. Makes me wonder if he's the one that suggested they do that routine! I sort of feel bad for all the girls in the comments that are sad because he looks more like a girl than they do!

It reminds me of a One Direction music video, the one song I actually like by them, where one of the guys is dressed up as the "Sexy assistant" and is pretty good looking.

    4. I know, right? It was really thrilling to see those guys on stage. Like you, I felt a little sad for those girls who said that seeing Ren made them feel like failures as girls. They should not feel bad or ashamed about their self-images! The lines between acting and _being_, well, they separate fantasy and reality, which we like to transcend, but which we are also compelled to live.

I wonder if doing a cap along this theme might be welcome on Haven. ^^

    5. I would think so. There are people who don't mind being changed into an Asian girl. There are TG fiction stories about guys going on Japanese game shows and changing sex too. I am wondering if you've read this story by Joe Six Pack about exchange students playing a video game.

It's likely you have, but maybe some other readers haven't. It's even got some art to show the changes as they happen.

    6. Well, I had encountered some of Joe Six-Pack's work from prior experience, but I didn't know of that particular story until you mentioned it. Thanks, Dee, for introducing me to it. ^^ I will try to contribute more actively to Haven now that I have been accepted and welcomed to open membership by such kind and inspirational sisters as yourself. While I know rationally that by choosing for my captions to be (mostly) non-explicit and also thematically (mostly) Asian I'm basically limiting myself to a smaller niche and a smaller fan base, I feel that it is more true to myself and rewarding, because I share your creative passion for thoughtful writing that is playful, inventive fantasy, not just a random collection of image porn. Your energy is amazing; I will try to live up to it plus contribute when I can, and no longer hide softly in the shadows. Cheers, Dee. ;)

  2. Hee hee... Great post. After being caught, my wife has taken more control. Sadly, she doesn't want to peg me. Great fun, sara

    1. Well Sara, maybe with some time and prodding, she'll be prodding your ass soon enough!

And hopefully your wife has been at least somewhat supportive of what you like to do. Nobody wants a hostile living situation.
