Figured I'd combine a few TG caption requests I don't usually do ..
Well, I mean I wasn't blatant about it, but I honestly am not sure I've ever done an auto-closet caption before, and I am very sure I've never done a QoS one either.
I believe the model goes by the name of a few different nom de plumes, but in this guise, I think it's Samantha Legs? Anyway, the image was striking in a way, and mostly because of how outrageous the wig and makeup are. And it's more viewable in other pictures in the set, but there's definitely a QoS 'tattoo' (Queen of Spades, look it up if you don't know!) where her pubes should be .. and I wasn't sure I was going to reference it, and that is why I went with this picture.
I thought the only real way I could use this photo in a caption is to either lean into a drag queen sort of thing, or use the old trope of Autocloset .. and by old, I mean .. I don't think anyone has made one of those in 10-15 years! So I'm not anything if not timely, right?
I honestly have no idea how the protagonist kept getting changed into something wild like that .. but I am leaning into the closet finding his porn stash .. or maybe Dee DID do something to the autocloset. I mean, I wouldn't put it past me to do something on par with that.
And I did tie the "tat" into the ending, once I defined that the dude worked at a comic book store. I think it's a nice little way to wrap it all into a nice little bow.
So is there anyone that is into autoclosets or QoS type captions? Do let us know .. I mean, I could come across another image and think .. hey, I've got people that wouldn't mind seeing more!

ReplyDeleteI could have sworn I made a couple auto closet posts (cap, obscura, tumblr...) but I can't find them. I've recently enjoyed some stories involving auto closets and added to one of the stories on CHYOA. As for QoS, I included that as a major story beat in my current Gamer Gurl story. As a whole, I don't like it when I read or see it as it's just borderline racist, but when it's handled well it can be quite pleasing.

DeleteI agree with the QoS stuff, I do find that much of it can be racist as well. Though in this caption, I was more leaning into a goofing around between roommates with banter, as opposed to the actual meaning behind it. In general, I'd rather leave ethnicities out of things unless it's playful or a source of pride for a protagonist, and not "punching down" so to speak.
