Perhaps there could be a benefit to shopping early on Black Friday!
Hey, if I was walking around the mall tomorrow and I knew you were there .. I'd definitely help you find all the biggest bargains so that you could be the best basic bitch you could be.
What am I thankful for?
- That my friends are still alive and kicking, and those that are suffering will thrive to the best of their capabilities.
- That my daughter is safe now, and in a good relationship with a man that truly cares about her, and is elevating her spirits to new heights; something I wouldn't have thought just 8 months ago.
- That I still have a job, and that there will be some upcoming stability there with a real boss, instead of the myriad of shadow bosses who tinker and meddle; because they really have no idea what I do there, other than I am keeping the office from falling apart like the other departments.
- That my apartment still provides a roof over my head, as rents continue to climb astronomically. Even with my rent rising 100 dollars in January .. it's no where near what I'd be paying if I had to find someplace else to live.
- That I can still be creative as a captioner, even after at least 2,500 captions made by my hand. That's a metric shit ton of work! That plus all the words I've typed in here within the body of 2,400 posts on this blog. I've cranked out a lot of verbiage in my time amongst the TG community. This might be my slowest year let, but I don't think I'm done quite yet!
- That I can afford to make a special Thanksgiving dinner for myself .. with a small turkey breast (I can't NOT eat at least a bit of turkey, even though I'm mostly a veggiesaurus now) stuffing, home made mac and cheese and also homemade cranberry sauce. And then share it on Friday with someone I'm dating semi-romantically while watching cheesy movies.
- That I still have many wonder people who visit this blog 14 years after I created it, and that I've made quite a few friends over the years while doing it. Many of them are no longer with us on this realm (Dawn, Rachel, Helena .. and especially the dearest Kaaren S!ssy) or no longer posting (Jennifer, ShySteffie, B!mboJessica, Petra, KatieMills, etc ..) but I am grateful for every one of them and what their friendship has added to my life.
- And of course, most of all, my forever person, who by her own vivaciousness and untold tenacity, saw a rowdy drunk asshole and discovered a heart of gold underneath, and a broken soul that needed healing. Luckily for me, I found her at the exact right moment, and was able to patch up her heart too, and we shared both tragedies and celebrations in the 20 years we spent together. I am ever grateful that she came into my life, even though she left it way too early for my liking.
I'd love to hear what you are thankful for, as we head into the last month of 2024, and into the undiscovered country .. the future.
