Who Says You Can't Go Home Again?

Always nice to come across some vintage clothes that aren't too tacky or frou-frou!

Or maybe just a bit frou-frou? I mean, that IS quite the jacket, don't you think?

Made this caption for Lacy on the Haven, and I've made so many captions for her, as she loves lingerie and hosiery, and I think she just likes getting captions from me .. so I know I'll get great responses back from her.

As I said in the original post, "Hope I'm not jumping the gun a bit here when it comes to life situations, but I saw this picture, thought of you, and then the whole scenario came to me, and I just needed to flesh out the dialog a bit." I had reason to believe that Lacy is probably in her 50's or so, and perhaps her mother had passed on, so that this caption would work; or at the very least, it's probable that this sort of scenario could happen. I am betting that many of you here .. the 1st female clothing you tried on was either your mom's or your sisters. In that way, I thought the plot would be relatively universal.

So perhaps all the details wouldn't match, but I still thought it would hit all the buttons: of memories past, retro clothing and how they feel, familial connections, and a sense of going home.

Taking a gamble sort paid off, as Lacy did reply to the caption the next afternoon. "What is even more interesting is your timing. I just returned from staying 3 weeks with my mom, who is in her 90's. You are right, my dressing started at home. Here my fascination and infatuation with lacy slips all started when I was a teen. This time I brought with me several lacy slips that I slept in on several nights, but not every night. The urge to dress there was not as intense, but upon returning home with access to all my silky lingerie and lacy slips, I have seen the urge grow. And, unlike your caption no one in my family knows I have a thing for silky lingerie and lacy slips. Regardless, I did enjoy the caption! Many thanks!"

I am so pleased when something I created makes a connection with its recipient, and it is a wonderful feeling. Makes me feel great when someone says, "That caption with the BLANK .. I keep coming back to look at it. You really captured something there!" Brings me closer to all of you, no matter how far apart we are, whether distance, culture, financial situation, age, actual gender, or the amount of time between when I wrote it and you view it.

Thank you for all the feedback I've received through the years, and I look forward to more .. as I am a bit less than 500 more from hitting 10k comments. And I hit 40 million views last month. I'm flattered that with all the options out there for TG content, so many of you still pop in and continue to be a part of this community!

Can we learn to get by if we learn to have scars?
If we learn to forgive and accept who we are.

    1. Yes, it's a pretty sweet caption. Even has a "caught" moment that is lots of fun to imagine too!
