Mommy's Alright, Daddy's Alright, They Just Seem a Little Weird ...

... Surrender, Surrender, but don't give yourself away, away ... AWAY!!

Damn, I love me some good Cheap Trick! SO totally underrated and should have been in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so much earlier than 2016. Such a killer band to see live.

And I was trying to think of how to title this caption, and the lyrics came right out, and I thought, "yeah, that'll work!" And the hat does look like something that Bun E. Carlos would wear behind the drum kit.

There's something about those cork heel shoes that gets me revved up, especially with the pantyhose. Maybe it's a flashback to watching Three's Company when it was in syndication. Chrissy and Janet were definitely two of the early leggy women that I dug as a youngster. Markie Post on Night Court was another. Where was I again?

Oh yeah, the caption. That hat just gave me Dad vibes, and so I went with it. And I guess you could call it a POV caption, because you could certainly star in it, with that as your former father.  I would guess that your friends would definitely come over your house to visit more often if you dad was watching TV in his underwear with his hand down his pants if HE looked like that, right?

Hope this 2/3 of of January is treating you ok. We've been fairly lucky so far this year with snow fall totals, though we've been in a big of a freezing run temperature wise. It can get cold in the apartment at night, but at least I don't have to shovel cold weather .. so I'm hoping we have a winter like last year! Fingers crossed!

Stay safe and warm everyone! I'd much rather be dressed like that in warm winter weather than freezing my ass off in hoodies and boots! I'd even wear that hat unironically!

And guess what? Young Damien was at this performance. My parents brought me to see it, and it was broadcast on MTV Spring Break. I don't seem to be in the crowd, but there was no way I was getting up to the front. Still a blast! And I've only been to Florida once since 1989!

  1. I see what you mean about the hat!

And seeing a broadcast live is pretty cool!

    1. Yes, that broadcast was fun to see later on, when I got home. I didn't know much about Cheap Trick then, but they definitely connected with me, and I think I ended up with a greatest hits CD soon after.

And as for the hat, when you are given something like that in a picture to tie in with a TG story, you definitely try to use it to full effect!
