Damn Millennials are Destroying Everything!

So it's only a matter of time before they wreck havoc on whatever stuff hasn't been destroyed yet!

Well, about 10 years ago, here at the Haven, there was a silly little meme going around that "Dee was to blame" for anything that went wrong. Now in 2019, I don't have to worry about that because there's always a Millennial around to wreck everything. They've killed diamonds, the housing market, used cars, casual dining, etc .. Or is it the outdated practices that have been part of society and our culture for way too long now?

Skip to "<><><>"  if you don't want to read a cultural and political diatribe by yours truly!

Having a millennial for a daughter, I can see it from both sides, and the way of life of the Baby Boomer Generation is fucking doomed, trust me!  The millennials have seen the way the boomers are screwing up the planet, have a bias against females, LGBTQ+ and other cultures, and how the boomers have tilted the playing field for some time now. They might be all looking at their screens all the time, but it's telling them exactly what the problem is and they will mobilize to fix it, PRONTO!

They know they are getting a raw deal when it comes to education, the housing market, loaded debt, no chance for a secure retirement or anything else etc ..  They know what is fraudulent and see what the world is going to be like, as they have been the first generation to truly be part of a global movement, one without borders. You cannot build a wall around a planet anymore and stop truth.

They've already been competing with the rest of the world for years now. They know the game is rigged towards the privileged, but they aren't as likely to fall for the whole generalization of other evil cultures and people invading. They are already here, whether or not they are here already physically, many jobs have been outsourced to other countries and that it was our own government and the businesses that farmed them out in the name of saving money. Either they'll find others to work harder for less money, or there will be automation to completely take it out of human hands.

So, ummm "those people" are coming here to steal our jobs .. AND ... are too lazy to work and will leech health care and free food and drivers licenses and education without lifting a finger!

Or maybe they'll just sell out like my generation did .. the slacker generation. Hopefully the millennials realize we were outnumbered and outplayed and have a tiny sliver of pity for us. And as if you didn't notice, the caption was much more balanced than this rant I am posting right now!

<><><>

Coming up soon .. a caption one month in the waiting to be posted! Something celebrating this week's special holiday. You know, the one that is exactly one month after Valentine's Day! Stay Tuned!

Nothing really to do with the caption. Just a great song. I find that I like the Beatles more now than when I was younger. Maybe I just had a chip on my shoulder, but they have some great songs!

  1. Um, I'm sorry, still kinda stuck on ketchup on steak . . . what kind of monsters are we raising? LOL

Seriously, though, I get what you're saying. We have two boys, and I never know whether to apologize for the world we've thrust them into, or congratulate them on being part of making it better.

    1. The funny part of your comment is that I took the well-done steak with ketchup part from the current Donald J. President! Figured that bad taste in culinary choices knows no age limits!

I like your reasoning though about the children. Sound logic. I think that these millennials are going to be round 2 of "The Greatest Generation" where they stare down large amounts of adversity and conquer it as best they can.

  2. Or maybe they should stop blaming, I mean past generations did the best with what they had at the time, not everything can be solved instantly, social media is not factual it can be manipulated to put your views across even if bs, just whinging about things doesn't help, one of my biggest mantras is if you are not part of the solution in a constructive way you are part of the problem. Can't change the past and we need to all move forward together. My real thoughts, promise will go gack to fun loving salgirl21 next time
