The Lumberjack and The Woodland Fairy Named Jinx!

Hello? Anyone out there? Hello? Bueller? Bueller? Is this thing on?

Hi to everyone out there that still comes around! Not sure where everyone went, but give me a holler and I'll go there too! This has been literally the SLOWEST few days on the blog since I started it back in 2010. The caption I made for Rachel, aka the last blog post, did not even reach 500 views until about 36 hours after it was posted and is still at 600 almost 2 days later. For perspective, the previous two reached 1000 views in about 12 hours, and one is over 2k now, while the other stalled at around 1500. It's so hard to tell what people will like, but even more so if they aren't even clicking to go inside to read it! You are all so unpredictable!

So anyway, on to the caption. Made it for Wendygirl, who spent some time away from the Haven. She's back now and I wanted to make her something as I am not sure if I've made her anything in 2015 and she was on my mind. I had this picture saved in my redhead folder and the shirt design made me think about a lumberjack. The picture before was saved for Jinny Jezebel so it made me think about her too, and the story came from that redhead bouillabaisse (goddess bless the spell checker!) of thought.

I've still been in the silly mode, but hopefully I can still bring some playful sexiness to the party. Got a goth band type concert to attend this weekend and possibly a Halloween party too. Trying also to avoid a bunch of people who have this zombie outbreak of head colds. Stay away from me, foul creatures with oozing nasal cavities! Be gone!

Did you all want an October Caption Challenge? If so, let me know! The challenge would be that it only ran for ONE week due to the nature of it being Halloween based. Let me know either way!

  2. Good work. Well, when I hear "the limberjack", I always remind this great Monty Python's song.

    1. Of course! Someone on the Haven starting "singing" it in the comments. That is why I went the non-traditional route with Jackyl instead. Not everyday you see a chainsaw solo in a song!

  3. Good cap. This is me hollering. I've been offline for a bit (apart from the odd short entry) due to that uh... time... of the... uh... oh. Year?

Anyway, yes, I like this cap and I'm a fan of Monty Python too. Much prefer the joke that was weaponised in the Second World War to the Lumberjack Song, but, hey, I'm strange. Still, good choice with Jackl.

I swear I used to have more meaningful comments. Ooh, an ale!

    1. Oh, and I nearly forgot: groaning at the pun. You must have had that squirreled away for some time, I just can't critter it too much. Sometimes I pine to be as good? Oh, oh dear, wood that I could pun like that, it's just aspen for trouble. An evergreen problem.

  4. Great cap, as someone who actually worked in the forestry sector for a short time, way back I can probably identify more with this cap than most. And yes, as well Monty Python as Jackyl appeal to me as well.

I would love an October Caption Challenge. I have to warn you though. Unlike you I'm not in a silly mode. Recently I'm in a horror mode. Jinny's Halloween Gallery is a great outlet for that. I only know a few Havenettes who would like a horror scenario, and even then, the most things I have written so far would clash with their preferences.

As for the lack in views, Over here there several parts of the country have their Autumn Holiday. Usually that means that those parents who can take some time off will do so, maybe a lot of people simply don't have the opportunity to view your blog, and it will pick up after Halloween.
