Some Health Issues

I haven't been around here much the last few days since I was in the hospital. Ahhhh, morphine totally rocks, by the way. I can certainly see why people get addicted to opiates.

The thing to note about all this is, I'm not sure how active I will be in others blogs. I might be able to throw up some posts from time to time here, but life isn't exactly a bowl of cherries right now for me, and I don't want that to influence/color any comments/praise I have for others work. Also, though I don't usually get too aroused by looking at TG captions, they do often contain good looking women, and I'd prefer not to have to deal with any mid-sectional issues, if you catch my drift.

Hey, maybe I'll be feeling better in a week. I certainly hope so, but I figured I would let people know up front. I should be around to do most of my admin tasks on the Haven, and if you need to contact me, go through the usual channels.

  1. I'm sorry to hear about the stone (soon to be stones) Dee. Those are just awful to have to go through. If I remember right, you've been through this a few times before right?

One thing to say about the opiates... yes they can be addicting, but don't hold off on them just to avoid getting addicted. First off there is no benefit to dealing with the pain. In fact as you experience pain, you tend to tense up, and you need to be relaxed to get that stone to move. Second, you get addicted to substances like that when it brings you joy and nothing else. Your body quickly 'needs' that for you to have any joy. But when it is being used to take away pain, the only thing you get 'addicted' to is not being in pain (and that is a natural state for everybody!). Your body doesn't have any way to fight the pain on its own, so you don't build up an addiction to it chemically.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about this Dee, I hope that this will all go by very smoothly and with as little to no pain as possible. If you feel good and have some time, you could set some posts in advance if you still want to keep your blog updated.

  4. I totally understand the joy of morphine when dealing with the tremendous pain of Kidney stones. I felt the same way about the opiates. I never had the large stone issue. Mine was always the things causing kidney infections and causing my white blood count to go through the roof. I take pills now to stop mine from forming as you know, but I still pass small stones from time to time. They still hurt. So hang in there. I know you will be suffering for a while no matter how they get you fixed.
