The Moment of Truth with an Unknown Resolution for Dawn

Sometimes the best way to win "a war" is to know when to pick your battles.

And that sometimes, your allies can be your worst enemies . but its a choice you'll have to make!

June is Pride month around here, and we've already had the bishop of Providence sound off about how catholics shouldn't attend Pride events. He tweeted, "A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ “Pride Month” events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children."

Of course, Bishop Tobin is known for this:

"Back when Tobin was auxiliary bishop of Pittsburgh, his diocese was named in a grand jury report on the cover-up of sexual abuse by the Catholic Church. Last year, Tobin told the Providence Journal that he was aware of reports of sexual abuse during his time in Pittsburgh, but he added they were outside his responsibility .. Given that history, Tobin’s tweet this week was particularly outrageous, said Joe Lazzerini, president of Rhode Island Pride."

“He said LGBTQIA+ people are harmful to children and frankly, hearing that from a leader [of] the Catholic Church is frankly flabbergasting,” Lazzerini told BuzzFeed News."

By the way, this is not going to go away in Rhode Island. Lazzerini is the official liaison on the staff of the mayor of Providence and the LGBTQIA+ community. Also, Rhode Island has an official liason between Providence Police and the LGBTQIA+ community. They don't fuck around in the tiniest state in the union!
Anyway, with that in the air, I wanted to make a somewhat serious caption and I knew that Dawn's preferences would fit just fine with what I had in mind. Something about the photograph brought the story out and I just went with it.

I like to think it's hopeful, but everyone's results may vary. I had something in mind for the resolution but I am going to hold it back for now. You all are more than welcome to let me know what you think happened once Dawn opened the door. I will let people know if your conjecture matches up with what I had in mind for that moment of truth.

And if you are wondering why it hasn't been posted to the Haven yet. We are having an issue with our database right now, and are unable to post attachments. We are working on it, ok?

    1. Panic! at the Disco was a great band, and still are, even though only Brandon Urie remains. They covered Bohemian Rhapsody in concert (apparently he was a vocal coach for Rami Malek) and also a Bonnie Raitt song, along with something from Greatest Showman when I saw them in January.

  2. Hmm, I like the open-ended nature of this, the lingering question of what happens once he opens that door.

Since it's Pride month, I'm going to assume there's some hope, happiness, and optimism on the other side. I think his wife already suspected, based on misplaced and oddly stretched clothes, and she followed him to see what he was up to. I'm totally reading too much of my own experience into this, but I think there might be a bit of insecurity on both sides, and what she wants to know is why he never told her . . . why isn't she good enough to share this with him . . . and does he still love her? They confess, clear the air, and go out for their first dinner as girlfriends. After she fixes his makeup and teaches him how to accessorize with some tasteful jewelry.

    1. I like what you wrote, and exactly what I'm hoping happens in both the caption and those in the same boat in reality.

My idea was a lot more melancholy, I believe.

  3. I guess everybody who dressed up has been in the situation where they thought they would be alone, but either someone comes home early, or losing track of time themselves. Thus putting them in the situation of changing back quickly or coming clean.
Even living alone I pretended not to be home, because people came by unanounced.

    1. I'm sure we can all be extremely paranoid, even when you think you are safe .. all it takes is one thing to be slightly off and you think it will be noticeable to anyone and everyone!
